  Mars was the first planet that humans attempted to get to. Since the 1960s, scientists have been working to learn more information about Mars’ past, We now know that Mars was once a warm and wet place with great oceans and deep rivers.   What is eBay? The simple answer is that is a global trading platform where nearly anyone can trade practically anything.   The idea came from Peter Omidyar, who was born in Paris and moved to Washington when he was still a child. This year, the Sepak Takraw(藤球) team in the Northern Territory, Australia is very different. It is made up partly of Karens, people from eastern and southern Myanmmar in Southeast Asia. They’ve only recently started calling the Australian city Darwin home. Other team members were chosen from players at Charles Darwin University.

“We ‘ve got some native players as well as some players that have come from the Karen,” said team coach Steven Svensson, “Having both modern and traditional skills has given our team a big advantage because they will be able to perform well in different team plays and different game plays.”

While the sport is new to Australians, it has a long history throughout Southeast Asia. Svensson said, “ For most Australians it looks a bit like a game of kick volleyball. It’s played on a badminton(羽毛球) court, with a badminton net. It’s quite an ancient sport that comes from Southeast Asia.”

There are records that pre-date the 13^th century. “A lot of people in lots of villages still see it as a traditional sport. And the sport itself is still used as a way of building a better citizens in a smaller community(社区),” he said.

“It’s for this reason that the players who’ve come from Southeast Asia have such traditional skills. They are now passing on the skills to the Australian members of the team.”

As well as providing a cultural bridge between refugees(难民) and students in Darwin, the sport has also given people with no English skills a chance to feel at home in Australia, playing a game they love.

“ The sport itself is seen as something to be shared in their own mother country, and the sport itself is a icebreaker. The Australian players have made good friends through the sport, and I’m sure the Karen players have also found a way to feel more comfortable in a different country.”

The team will compete in the Arafura Games for the Northern Territory. Competition stars on Sunday the 10^th of May.

Ever since Amelia Earhart vanished while flying over the South Pacific in 1937, scientists and historians have searched for the remains(残骸) of her plane. On July 3, a group of researchers set out to look for the plane using the latest technology. On Monday, the team announced that they collected a great deal of evidence but did not find the plane.

The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (TIGHAR) did the $2.2 million research. The group still believes that the plane crashed into a reef(暗礁) somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, and is already planning a voyage next year. Patricia Thrasher, the president of TIGHA, explained that a complicated search like this one could take a long time. “It’s not like an Indiana Jones flick where you go through a door and there it is,” she said.

Amelia Earhart was a pioneer for women pilots. She bought her first plane in 1992. In May, 1932, she became the first woman to fly alone across the Atlantic Ocean. The trip took 14 hours and 56 minutes—a new record. In 1937, Earhart set out to fly around the world with her navigator(航海员)， Fredrik Noonan, in her Lockheed Electra plane. The pilot and navigator never returned. The US Navy searched for the pair, but they were never found.

The TIGHAR search began after the group spotted a clue in an old photograph. There appeared to be a piece of landing equipment in a reef near the remote island of Nikomoro. The explorers wondered if the equipment in the photo might be from Earhart’s missing plane. The researchers planned to stay 10 days, but could only stay five because of equipment problems. The uneven land created shadows that made it difficult to see, but the researchers were able to collect evidence, and they took hours of video footage. When they reach Hawaii, they will examine the evidence.

TIGHAR will continue to search for Earhart’s plane. Even though the plane was not found, Tharsher considers the search a success. He believes the evidence collected by his team could contain valuable clues.
