From smartphones to electric cars, you may already be amazed by the technology that surrounds your daily life. If you’re amazed because it feels like you’re already living in a sci-fi movie, just wait until you hear the following amazing tech.
Virtual reality
It’s predicted that virtual reality will have its first billion-dollar year in 2018. It’s not surprising; think about all the new virtual reality tech that’s coming out these days—Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR, and even Google Cardboard. What makes virtual reality really amazing is the ways it’s currently being used. We’ve all seen how Facebook is starting to use the 360 video to create more immersive(沉浸式虚拟现实的)video content, but start-up Rukkus is taking that one step further. It is using virtual reality to allow people to get a virtual experience of their exact seat before buying their ticket.
Genetic(基因的)testing
In 2007 it cost 1 million dollars to have your DNA sequenced(测定序列). In 2009, that number dropped to $48,000. Today, it costs less than $1,000 to have your DNA sequenced thanks to the fast development of this tech. Why should people have their DNA sequenced?
Imagine a medical test that allows you to take a look at your future and see possible health risks. This gives you the ability to fight off any issues before they ever happen. Also, it tells you if you are a carrier of any diseases that you could pass on to your children.
Drones(无人驾驶飞机)
On the surface, it could look like drones are just another fashion. What can you really do with them besides film or race? As of right now, that’s all you can do. However, the future of drones has much more in store. Big organizations like Amazon are planning to use drones for shipping purposes. Imagine buying something online and having it delivered in a matter of hours, rather than days.

10. The author writes the text mainly to introduce .

English is an excellent language to learn, whether it’s for business, travel or personal reasons. Here are some important ways to improve your spoken English.
When you have time to speak, just try your best to practice. Don’t wait until you “feel more comfortable” speaking in English, so start speaking English today. You’ll be surprised at how quickly our language skills improve. Find a native English speaker who is willing to spend some time speaking English with you—you may be able to offer them a language exchange, where they spend 30 minutes speaking English with you and you spend 30 minutes speaking your native language with them.
Even if you have a good knowledge of the grammar and vocabulary, native English speakers may find it’s very difficult to understand you if you don’t work on your pronunciation. Correct, clear pronunciation is necessary if you really want to improve your English. Listen closely to how native English speakers pronounce certain words and sounds and do your best to copy them.
The wider your vocabulary and the more English phrases you learn, the easier speaking English will become. Once you have learned a new word or phrase, you should make an effort to use it in a sentence—this is the best way to memorize it. You should also start a notebook of phrases that English speakers use all the time.
Another great way to add some more English conversation into your weekly practice is to sign up for a class of discussion group. Attending an English class is a great way to pay attention to some of the more formal aspects of speaking English. A class will teach you the correct way of speaking. Attending a discussion group is a more informal and relaxed way of learning English, where the emphasis(重点)is more on communication and relationship building than on speaking “correct” English.
12. What is the best title of the text?
A. Ways of improving your spoken English
B. English is an excellent language to learn
C. English is useful for business and travels
D. How to learn English grammar clearly
13. The writer suggested people start practicing when .
A. they feel comfortableB. they meet the surprising thing
C. they have any timeD. they improve their language skills

B. Make sure how words are read and copy them.
C. Try the best to remember the spelling of the words.
D. Speak English when you “feel more comfortable”.

When we eat meals quickly, we miss the feeling of satiety(满足)and we continue eating long before we realize we’re full. However, eating too fast may result in many health problems. 16 So we should slow down our eating with the following four simple ways:
●17 Put down the phone, close the computer, turn off the TV and focus on your food. Pay attention to the taste and temperature of it. Synching up(使同步) your mind and your mouth will help you get more pleasure from the food that you are eating, giving you the chance to notice the good flavor from every bite.
●Set the table. 18 Set a place for yourself at the table you feel special. If you sit down and eat your meal, you will be more likely to slow down and enjoy it.
●Eat with chopsticks. 19 However, using chopsticks, no matter what food you are eating, can help you learn to put smaller amounts in your mouth, one mouthful at a time.
●Chew wisely. Count your bites as you chew. 20 Food that is well chewed will be digested more readily and lead to fewer gastrointestinal(肠胃的)problem.
A. Are you eating quickly?
