I've given a lot of speeches about education. And I've talked about responsibility a lot. I've talked about teachers' responsibility for inspiring students and pushing you to learn. I've talked about your parents' responsibility for making sure you stay on track, and you get your homework done. I've talked a lot about your government's responsibility for setting high standards, and supporting teachers and principals, and turning around schools that aren't working, where students aren't getting the opportunities that they deserve. But at the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, the best schools in the world -- and none of it will make a difference, none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities, unless you show up to those schools, unless you pay attention to those teachers, unless you listen to your parents and grandparents and other adults and put in the hard work it takes to succeed. That's what I want to focus on today: the responsibility each of you has for your education.

I want to start with the responsibility you have to be yourself. Maybe you could be a great writer -- maybe even good enough to write a book or articles in a newspaper -- but you might not know it until you write that English paper -- that English class paper that's assigned(指定的) to you. Maybe you could be an innovator(创新者)or an inventor -- maybe even good enough to come up with the next iPhone or the new medicine or vaccine(疫苗)-- but you might not know it until you do your project for your science class. Maybe you could be a mayor or a senator or a Supreme Court justice -- but you might not know that until you join student government or the debate team. And no matter what you want to do with your life, I guarantee(保证)that you'll need an education to do it. You cannot drop out of school and just drop into a good job. You've got to train for it and work for it and learn for it.

This isn't just important for your own life and your own future. What you make of your education will decide nothing less than the future of this country. The future of America depends on you. What you're learning in school today will determine whether we as a nation can meet our greatest challenges in the future.

32.What’s the main idea of the passage?

A.The teachers should take the responsibility to teach their students carefully.

B.The parents should all the time take the responsibility to supervise the children.

C.The government should take the responsibility to support the teachers and schools.

D.The students themselves should take the responsibility to study for their future.

33.What does the underlined word dedicatedmean?

A. frightened B. excited C.devotedD.determined

34.Who will be the listeners of this speech?

A.StudentsB.TeachersC.ParentsD.Principals

35.What is the best title of this passage?

A.Who is responsible for the future? B.Education---your choice

C.Your education, your future D.Education changes your life.

第二节 根据对话内容, 从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项, 选项中有两项为 多余选项。请将答案写在答题卷上。 (每小题 2 分, 满分 10 分)

Dear Mr. Green,

I am very exciting to learn that you will start a magazine. That sounds great and I definitely agree you on that.

Some of the columns that you mention in the letter are really my cup of tea. “Cultural Express” give us a better understanding of the world. Since people from different part of the world have different values, it’s necessary to learn from each another. Apart from that, “Blurt Out” is of great useful for Chinese students to learn English idioms and improving oral English. “Entertainment” is also cool! The popular singers, actors and celebrities are so attractively that you absolutely can’t miss this part. Teenagers are to fond of popular things, too.

Yours,

Li Ming

书面表达

Recently, two-child policy was put into effect in China,on which I made a survey among a group of students. Their views on it vary from person to person.

About fifty-five percent of the students surveyed hold the view that our country is in urgent need of the new policy. The reasons are chiefly as follows. For one thing, two-child policy contributes to easing pressure from the aging population. For another, it helps to relieve our burden when our parents grow old.

Others are against it. In their eyes, first, it costs too much to bring up two children, which many families can not afford. Second, it will be more difficult to find a job in the future, if there are so many people in China.

As far as I am concerned, I really want to have a little brother. Only in that way, can I learn to share and become less selfish.
